Search your samples by sound, not filename.

Type dusty lo-fi snare, say it out loud, or drop in a reference. KLANG finds matching sounds across your own library in milliseconds, entirely on your computer.

    kick_04_raw_final.wav tells you nothing.

Most sample managers only search filenames and folder names. KLANG listens to the audio itself, so it finds the aggressive 808 even when the file is called untitled_17.wav.

    See it in action

Type it, say it, or point at a sound you like. Then drag the result straight into your project.

The KLANG app: results for “warm analog pad” with waveforms, key badges and match scores, the macro filter panel open, and a pad playing in the bottom player.
    Describe it

    Type what you hear

Results update as you type, ranked by how well the sound itself matches your words, not by its filename.

    Say it

    Say it out loud

Click the mic, describe the sound and pause. The recording is transcribed on your computer and the search runs straight away.

    Match a reference

    Find more like this

Click Similar on any result, or drop in a file of your own, and your library is re-ranked by how close each sound is.

    Drag and drop

    Straight into your project

Grab any result and drop it onto a track. The original file goes in as it is: no exporting, no copying.

The DAW arrangement in this clip is a mock-up.

KLANG's macro filters set to a 1-shot length, warm tone and punchy attack, with musical key and match cutoff controls
    Filter by feel

    Length, tone and attack

Every filter is measured from the audio, so a warm one-shot with a punchy attack is three clicks away.

Synth presets matching “warm analog bass”, filtered to Vital, Surge XT and u-he, each with a description and match score
    Synth presets

Vital, Surge XT & u-he too

Search Vital, Surge XT and u-he presets by description, filter by synth and style, and inspect a patch's envelope, filter and effects before you load it.

    How it works

    Questions

Does KLANG upload my samples anywhere?

No. Analysis, search and voice transcription all run on your computer. Your audio files are never uploaded.

Do I need to be online?

Only once, the first time you launch KLANG, to download its AI models (about 430 MB). After that it works fully offline.

    Is this a subscription?

No. Free is free forever, and Pro is a one-time payment that includes every 1.x update.

What happens when I reach 2,500 samples on Free?

Everything you've already indexed keeps working. To index more sounds or add more folders, upgrade to Pro.

Which file types does it support?

Your library: WAV, AIFF and FLAC samples, plus Vital, Surge XT and u-he presets. Reference files for "find similar": WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3 and OGG.

Which DAWs does it work with?

Any DAW that accepts audio files dragged in from a folder, including Ableton Live, FL Studio, Reaper, Cubase, Studio One and Bitwig.

How does it understand what a sound is like?

KLANG uses an AI model trained on pairs of sounds and text descriptions, so words and audio can be compared directly. It also measures each sound's length, brightness, attack and loudness, which power the filters.

    Is there a Mac version?

Yes. KLANG runs on Macs with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) and macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Intel Macs aren't supported.
